You are invited to participate in a research study entitled Nurses and Midwives Wellness and Work Experiences During and After the COVID-19 Pandemic. The IRB-approved method for approaching subjects is social media.
The purpose of the study is to learn more about nurses' and midwives' experiences living and working during the COVID-19 pandemic between March 2020 and December 2023.

You are invited to participate in a research study entitled Nurses and Midwives' Wellness and Work Experiences During and After the COVID-19 Pandemic, conducted by Dr. Lina Younan, Faculty of Nursing at the American University of Beirut. The conduct of this study will adhere to the IRB-approved protocol.
The IRB-approved method for approaching subjects is social media. The purpose of the study is to learn more about nurses' and midwives' experiences living and working during the COVID-19 pandemic between March 2020 and December 2023.
- You have been asked to participate in this study because you worked in healthcare and provided care and treatment to people with COVID-19 during the pandemic (March 2020–December 2023).
- Your participation is voluntary, meaning you can choose whether or not to participate. Before you make a decision, you will need to understand the purpose of the study, the potential risks and benefits of being in the study, and what you will need to do if you decide to participate.
- The purpose of the study is to learn more about nurses' and midwives' experiences of living and working during the COVID-19 pandemic between March 2020 and December 2023.
- Nurses and midwives from around the world will share their experiences in providing clinical management of patients with COVID-19 and subsequent patient outcomes.
- This study will last 12 months (May 2025 to April 2026).
- Data collection for this study will extend through the end of 2025.
- During the survey, you will be asked to share your experience related to your clinical practice, managing COVID-19 patients, resources and treatments you would like or believe would be helpful for your patients but have not been provided or received, and the outcomes you believe are most important to your patients and your clinical practice. We will also ask you about the impact of your experience on you personally.
- Only the data you provide in the survey will be collected and analyzed. The research team will not have access to your name or contact information. The survey results will be published in a research article available in print and online from the American University of Beirut Libraries.
- There is no compensation or benefit to you for participating in the survey; however, your participation can help us understand how to improve healthcare delivery during the pandemic, how to improve support for nurses and midwives working during the pandemic, and the need for policy changes that could indirectly benefit you. In the future, this may help patients, nurses, and midwives achieve better outcomes during the pandemic.
- Participation in this study is voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time.
- Information from this study that is published or presented at scientific meetings will not contain your name.
- Records will be monitored and may be audited by the Institutional Review Board, with assurances of confidentiality.
