You are invited to participate in a research study “COVID-19 Vaccines between Science and Conspiracy theories: How are the Lebanese dealing with the infodemic?”

conducted by Dr. Wajiha Jurdi-Kheir from the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut. The purpose of the study is to assess the attitudes, knowledge and belief in conspiracy theories surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines among the Lebanese living either in Lebanon or abroad. The conduct of this study will adhere to the IRB approved protocol.

This message invites you to read the consent document and consider whether you want to be involved in the study.

Please note that:

- Participation is completely voluntary.

- Completing the questionnaire will take around 10 minutes.

- Only the data you provide in the questionnaire will be collected and analyzed. The research team will not have access to your name or contact details.

Potential benefits to subjects and/or to society

You will not receive payment for participation in this study.

Participants are expected to test their knowledge about COVID-19 and its vaccines and to find answers for their concerns or questions in the fact sheet provided at the end of the survey. This sheet will also debunk common myths about COVID-19 and its vaccines.

This study will elucidate the relationship between belief in conspiracy theories and knowledge about COVID-19 and its vaccines. It will also look at the sources of information in relation to both knowledge and the tendency to believe in conspiracy.

Potential risks to subjects and/or to society

No potential risks to the subjects are possible.
