How did you first hear about the University for Seniors?

AUB ID card: UfS will issue an AUB ID card to members who do not have Alumni or other AUB IDs and are currently residing in Lebanon, if they wish to have one. You will, however, always have aceess to campus for UfS organized activities, regardless if you have an ID or not. To get an ID card, you will need to fill in an application form and bring with you two passport photos and a copy of your Lebanese ID or your passport in addition to your vaccination card. The card costs $10 in fresh dollars at AUB’s Cashier. Benefits of the ID: Easy campus access, Jafet Library access, discounted membership rates at Charles Hostler Center (AUB GYM) and 15% discount at Casper and Gambini – Med Café. Since registration is online, the UfS team will be assigning a day for you to go to campus and complete your ID process.

As a participant in the Spring 2024 term at the American University of Beirut, University for Seniors Program, I do hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in on-campus and off-campus activities organized by the University for Seniors starting March 18, 2024, and I hereby declare that my health and physical condition are adequate to meet the physical requirements of the activities.

 

I hereby agree to follow the instructions and guidance of the AUB appointed instructor and/or activity supervisor.

 

I understand that accidents and injuries can arise from participation in the University for Seniors activities; knowing the risks, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to hold harmless and indemnify AUB, its trustees, officers, employees, agents, instructors, guides, and other representatives from any and all claims for damages to persons or property caused by myself, and for any and all injuries sustained by me during the activities in the context of the Program. I hereby irrevocably waive any and all claims for damage, injury, bodily injury or property damage which I may have or which hereinafter may accrue to me against the entities and persons mentioned above, and hereby release and discharge them from any liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in the activities.

 

It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risks have been freely entered into and are to be binding on my heirs and assigns.

As a University for Seniors member, you will have access to campus during all UfS related activities; however, AUB and the UfS, is not able to provide you with any form of insurance or medical coverage if accidents occur. We kindly ask you to have your own active insurance plan for such emergencies.
